Eligibility Requirements

SCU employees, directors, committee members, and their families (including children and grandchildren) are not eligible.

1. Applicant must be a high school senior, a full-time trade school student, or a full-time college student between the ages of 17-23 years old.
2. Applicant must have a minimum of 2.5 cumulative GPA.
3. Applicant must be a primary SCU member (name listed first on the account), and the applicant's account must be in good standing.

Applicant must submit:

1. An official high school, trade school, or college transcript including the Fall 2025 semester with the cumulative grade point average (GPA) on the transcript. The transcript must be received by SCU directly from the school in a sealed envelope by the deadline of Tuesday, March 31, 2026.
2. A completed SCU Scholarship application along with two typed, double spaced, one-page essays on two of the following topics:

One essay from these two questions:

• How do you envision yourself changing your field or industry?
• Pick an experience from your own life and explain how it has influenced your development.

And one essay from these two questions:

• What motivates you?
• If you had the opportunity to have a 30-minute conversation with one person (either living or deceased), who would it be & why? What topics would you discuss with that person?

Deadline

Completed application and all documents must be received by Staley Credit Union no later than 5:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 31, 2026. NO EXCEPTIONS.

Awarding Scholarships

Scholarship winners will be contacted by Thursday, April 30, 2026. For our soon to be high school graduates, scholarship information will be provided to your high school in order that the scholarship can be announced at graduation. Decisions are made by the Staley Credit Union Scholarship Selection Committee. All decisions are final.
