For Educators
We are also partnering with local schools to bring the Berenstain Bears Financial Literacy program to classrooms around the community.
Berenstain Bears School Visits
Staley Credit Union is now offering our members The Berenstain Bears Financial Literacy Program and we want to share this stellar youth education program with your school. We are currently working with elementary schools in our Illinois and Indiana markets.
The Berenstain Bears Financial Literacy Program was developed in response to studies documenting the advantages of teaching fiscal responsibility to children as young as 5 years old. The money management concept Save, Share, Spend, Earn is interwoven throughout the program. Endorsed by The National Credit Union Foundation, these lessons comply with national standards for Financial Literacy. The program is most suitable for Kindergarten through 3rd Grade students. Because children love the Berenstain Bears, they respond well to these lessons.
We would be honored to provide this special financial education at no cost to your school.
Please share this information with your K-3rd grade teachers so we can set a time to visit their classrooms. Each teacher will receive a copy of The Berenstain Bears’ Trouble with Money book for their classroom. Students will be sent home with fun activity sheets and a letter to the parents explaining the initiative. As a member-owned financial cooperative, providing financial education is one of the many ways we serve our community.
To quote Ben Franklin, “An investment in knowledge pays the best interest.”
